Day five - An all inclusive sports day

William wanted to see his favorite TV channel YTV. This was the first stop we did. He was in "the zone"!! By chance, we passed right by Phil's favorite TV channel G4Tech. Great luck.



We parked the car close to the Rogers Centre so we could be ready for the big game in the evening and took a taxi to the Hockey Hall of Fame.

We loved it. Even if you're not a big hockey fan, it's still a great place to visit. The architecture is beautiful inside and out.

We ate lunch at the food court and went back at the HOF for more visiting. Phil loved the area with all the collectible cards and hockey memorabilia.

We spent the day walking around the city with Red Sox t-shirts. We met so many others like us that I thought there was no Blue Jays fan in Toronto! I changed into mine an hour before we went to the game. I wanted mine to be stain free!!


We walked to the Eaton Centre hoping to catch a movie. There was nothing of interest or within the necessary timeframe. We ended up taking the subway to Union Station where we relaxed and cooled off in Fairmont Royal York Hotel's lobby.

Day four - Canada's blazing Wonderland

Where were we during Toronto's hottest day of the summer? We spent it at Canada's Wonderland!!


It was hard to really enjoy it with the extreme heat. The shaded areas were sparse and the line-ups for the rides sometimes long. With not a cloud in the sky, we still did a few rides in the morning.

After lunch, we went to the water park. As soon as I had my bathing suit on, I ran to the first big water shower to cool off. We did the lazy river twice. It was relaxing and so refreshing!

After sharing DQ blizzards, we changed and went to see a skating show in an air conditioned theatre. We also saw a diving show before we left. The shows were excellent.

Dinner at Swiss Chalet and we headed "home" to our suite exausted!

Day three - Losing one girl

This is Angela's last day with us.

We decided to take a leisurely walk to the Waterfront area with the entire family. It was SOOO hot. We ended up going to a dog show where there was air conditioning to cool off. Will won a pin and towel for answering some dog related questions!




We drove Angela to the train station. I'm so glad she was able to be with us. Robert, Angie and I went to Canadian Tire and T & T. We relaxed home the rest of the day ordering pizza for dinner. I was in bed by 9PM!!

Today, Caite smiled at me.

Day two - Toronto is alive with the sound of music!

The moment we were all waiting for - The Sound of Music.


After an early dinner of Angie's delicious flank steak, we went back downtown for an evening we will never forget. It was the first time I set foot at the Princess of Wales Theatre and here - a beautiful modern theatre. Lady Di, gotta love her.



Not only did we get awesome seats, we also had many surprises. We were invited to Private Lounge before the show and during intermission courtesy of Mirvish.com.


What can we find in the Private Lounge? Drinks, nuts, mints, jujubes and ice cream. Another great perk - a private bathroom. No line-ups for this lucky group.

Do you see a happy boy? He's got his juice, jujubes, cashews and ice cream. The works!


Did we enjoy the show? Needless to say I was very surprised to hear myself balling my eyes out the entire show, alternating between weeping and laughing. Really. I know, I'm pretty pathetic but I LOVED it. In fact, everyone did.

I recommend anyone to see it. Mirvish.com. They have great hotel, dinner, show deals. Check it out here. This is the best show I've ever seen and I've seen many. The sets were incredible. The multi-talented cast members were very well chosen with singing and acting close to perfection. Elicia Mackenzie, the actress playing Maria, was selected during the tv show How do you solve a problem like Maria on CBC.

Did we go home after the show? Of course not. Jim had arranged for a tour "behind the scenes". We met with the Production Manager who gave us a tour of the sets and how it all works behind the scenes. This was such a huge surprise and so exciting. Will was able to wear the nazi helmet used in the show. Fun stuff.



After the tour, we exited through the stage door. The boys went back home while the girls had a drink downtown.

Day two - Toronto is heating up!

When you know someone like Jim, it gets you places in the entertainment-tourism industry in the Toronto area. Saturday, it came very handy for us!!

After a breakfast of bagels (we had lots to eat, like almost two dozens), we headed downtown at Yonge and Dundas square and took a hop on - hop off two hour city tour on a double decker bus!! We enjoyed the sights from the top of the bus. Toronto is a beautiful city. We are so glad we took the tour.

We relaxed home in the afternoon while the boys went shopping. We have a BIG evening ahead of us.

Day one: Toronto here we come!

We left on Friday morning and picked up Angela in St-Leonard. The trip to Toronto was quick with a short lunch break at Wendy's. We listened to lots of music including the Sound of Music soundtrack.

The first activity we did when we got to Angie and Jim's house was walk along the beautiful beach 2 minutes from their house. It was great to see each other again. Even after only two months, the kids have grown. Is that possible?

After the beach, the girls went shopping at T & T, the most "awesomest" chinese supermarket. I absolutely love that place. I actually went back on another day. Did I say I love it?

The house is beautiful.


Our family took over the entire third floor while Angela crashed in Keagan's room. We were very comfortable in the luxurious and roomy suite. Angie had filled our beds with Dove and Axe products. Yummy stuff!! From that day on, Will applied deodorant everyday!!

We had a wonderful dinner together. We had girl talk in the evening with a tall glass of red wine while the boys did the town. We have the best of hosts.

Nous sommes de retour / We are back !

Nous avons eu beaucoup de soleil et chaleur à Toronto. Avec des souvenirs pleins la tête et des photos en masse, nous sommes contents d'être de retour à la maison dans nos affaires.

En résumé: du bon temps avec nos amis, une balade à la plage, un tour de ville dans un double decker bus, l'incroyable spectacle Sound of Music, T&T, promenade au Waterfront, Canada's Wonderland, Hockey Hall of Fame, partie de baseball au Rogers Center.... Thanks Angie, Jim, Keagan and Caite for everything!!
