Scott Tokessy Memorial Gold Glove Tournament

This week-end, William's Brossard All-Star baseball team participated in a Little League tournament in Kanata, Ontario, the Scott Tokessy Memorial Gold Glove Tournament.

Most of the team stayed at the Travelodge Hotel Ottawa and Conference Center where we had a blast in the wave pool, water slide, hot tub and kiddie pool! We also partied in the rooms and on the balconies overlooking the beautiful zen garden. We are a great bunch of people and it was great to hangout together.

The team played three games. The first game was Friday at 8PM against Oakville. We lost 3-8. Their team had enormous kids (men?), 11 to 12? Really??! We then played Saturday morning at 7h45 against Brockville and we lost 3-15. The last game against Orleans on Saturday at 6PM was a close call but lost 4-7.

The boys did great and played great games. We are very proud of them.

This tournament was established in 1996 in memory of Scott, a popular twelve year-old boy who died suddenly of an irregular heartbeat, after hitting a home run for his house league team, in May of that year. This was a perfectly well-organized event and the baseball fields were great.

Phil and I took our morning walk on the premises, it's a beautiful park.

The Brossard team participated in the parade during the opening ceremonies led by Colour Guard. Go Cubs Go!!!

Between the two games, we had lunch at this fine establishment!!

Since we didn't have to play on Sunday, we decided to go to the Canadian Museum of Nature. It is so much better now that they have renovated it.

Unfortunately, we had one family member that was a little tired from all the baseball, parties and fun times in the water!!

Monday morning, back to reality.

Sir Paul McCartney

Phil and I had the great pleasure of going to see Paul McCartney at Montreal's Bell Centre, The Gazette's review here.

Here we are waiting patiently for the doors to open. Phil is a great fan. It was a thrill to see a Beatle live.

A small band was playing Beatles songs to the outside crowd. The singer Daniel Lalonde had his guitar signed by Paul last year.
